The Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Puan Maharani, has called on the Indonesian National Police (INP) Children's and Youth Association (KBPP Polri) to actively participate in helping to promote the peaceful conduct of the 2024 elections. "I call on KBPP Polri to actively support the INP's task of raising awareness among the public about the importance of conducting peaceful elections," she said in a statement as reported by antaranews.com She was addressingg the National Leadership Meeting of KBPP Polri, which was attended by central and regional leaders of KBPP Polri, several House members, and representatives from the INP in South Jakarta on Thursday (28/9/2023). "The 2024 General Election must be successful and conducted peacefully, and here the performance of the INP in maintaining security and order is key to the success of the 2024 elections," Puan added. Puan urged KBPP Polri to help the Indonesian public understand that genuine political differences are a normal part of democratic processes.
