Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) on Saturday (6//12/2025) delivered emergency logistics to flood-affected residents in Aceh Tamiang using a helicopter after rising waters left no safe landing points.
The mission was carried out by the Water and Air Police Unit, which deployed a crew to ensure supplies reached isolated communities.
“There was no safe place to drop the aid because all surrounding areas were underwater and evacuation points were unreachable,” INP Head of Public Relations Division Police Inspector General Sandi Nugroho said, as reported by antaranews.com.
The operation required pilot Superintendent Dian Didik Arvianto to hover at a fixed altitude while strong winds and limited visibility complicated control of the aircraft. Despite the conditions, the team managed to distribute all supplies to residents waiting in high-risk areas.
Police said the mission was conducted to ensure timely assistance as flooding continues to disrupt access and mobility in Aceh Tamiang, one of the worst-hit areas in Sumatra.
