Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin called the cases of human trafficking involving thousands of Indonesian university students on vacation jobs in Germany, "shameful acts that tarnish Indonesia's reputation".
"I find this deeply troubling; it stains the reputation of our nation, Indonesia. It's indeed a shameful matter," he said on Tuesday (2/4/2024).
Vice President Ma'ruf stressed the urgency of addressing this issue to prevent its recurrence in the future.
"We must monitor this closely and hold accountable those responsible to prevent such incidents from happening again," he asserted.
Furthermore, the Vice President expressed support for Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjantoin forming a task force to investigate and resolve the case. This measure aims to prevent universities from taking advantage of Indonesian students.
"We must ensure swift resolution and prevent universities from exploiting opportunities that may harm students," the Vice President said.
