Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung.  West Java Regional Police arrested an Iranian man, identified as MT, for converting liquid methamphetamine into crystal form at a rented house in Meruya, West Jakarta. 

The arrest followed an investigation into a 50-gram meth seizure in the region.

West Java Police Head of Narcotics Senior Superintendent Albert RD, said on Thursday (10/7/2025)  that the suspect, who entered Indonesia on 5 July 2025, operated a clandestine drug lab from the house. Police seized 123 liters of liquid meth, which could yield up to 128 kilograms of high-grade crystal meth.

“He’s a chemist specializing in narcotics production and is linked to the international Golden Crescent drug syndicate,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com

The Iranian suspect is charged under Indonesia’s Narcotics Law. Penalties include death, life imprisonment, or fines up to Rp 10 billion.

Police are expanding the investigation, suspecting broader international links in this drug trafficking operation.
