Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang.  Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs, the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), has uncovered an international drug trafficking syndicate involving five foreigners from the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, and China.

Gatot Sugeng Wibowo, the Head of Soekarno Hatta Airport Customs, said on Thursday (10/7/2025) that the operation uncovered six smuggling attempts via passenger luggage and cargo, leading to the arrest of 10 suspects.

Authorities seized 2.7 kg of methamphetamine, 1,205 MDMA pills, 1.2 kg of catha edulis, 4.7 kg of etomidate liquid, cannabis, and “happy five” pills, according to antaranews.com

In one instance, meth was hidden inside children’s books from South Africa. Another shipment from Germany labeled as candy tins contained MDMA tablets. A third attempt used a motorcycle spare part from Malaysia to conceal crystal meth.

The suspects face charges under the Narcotics Law and the Health Law, with maximum penalties of death or life imprisonment.
