Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Minister of Communication and Informatics Nezar Patria considers the approval of the Second Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE Law) as significant move in fostering a healthier digital environment.
"I believe that the amendment aims to establish a healthy digital space," he said on Tuesday (5/12/23).
Patria highlighted that the amendment involved the revision of 14 articles and the addition of five new ones, with special attention given to the modification of Article 27, commonly known as the "rubber article" in the previous legislation.
Meanwhile, Minister of Communication and Informatics Budi Arie Setiadi anticipates numerous enhancements to digital regulation with the second amendment.
"By formalizing this draft into a regulation, we expect more effective legal mechanisms, ensuring a more productive and equitable digital landscape," stated the Minister.
