Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  During the 2026 Good Friday services, Father Yohanes Deodatus of the Jakarta Cathedral urged the younger generation to maintain faith and resilience in the face of ongoing global challenges.

"When we trust in God, there is always a way. Hope ensures that even amidst a global crisis, our youth possess the spiritual strength to endure difficult situations without falling into despair," Father Yohanes said on Friday (3/4/2026), as cited by antaranews.com..

The highlight of the day’s observances was the "Creative Stations of the Cross" performance titled Lux in Nihilo (Light in Nothingness), organized by the Catholic Youth (OMK). The performance focused on the figure of Saint Peter, portrayed as a struggling fisherman who remains persistent through hardship, symbolizing the journey from a "crisis of meaning" back toward spiritual light.

Susyana Suwadie, the Head of Public Relations for the Archdiocese of Jakarta, explained that the narrative of Peter’s fall and subsequent rise serves as a powerful metaphor for modern youth to find direction, practice humility, and embrace the true meaning of sacrifice and love.
