Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has banned the presence of so-called “Pak Ogah,” or informal traffic controllers, on TB Simatupang street in South Jakarta, citing their role in worsening congestion in the area.
He stressed that traffic management must remain the responsibility of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and police.
“I have instructed that there must no longer be any Pak Ogah standing in the middle of the road to direct traffic. This is entirely under the authority of the police, Satpol PP, and the Transportation Agency,” he told reporters at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (20/8/2025), referring to the Public OrderAgency.
Governor Pramono added that narrow road sections and construction sites further aggravate congestion, pledging to formally request the central government to reduce the size of project facilities.
He urged residents to consider alternative routes or use public transport to ease gridlock.
