Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Effective October 1, cars that fail to pass emission tests in Jakarta will face a parking penalty of Rp 7,500 per hour, according to a recent announcement by the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta. This move marks the implementation of a new parking disincentive rate, which will be enforced at parking facilities managed by both the Jakarta administration and Pasar Jaya, the city's market management company.
"Starting from October 1, 2023, all parking locations managed by Pasar Jaya, comprising 121 parking spots, will adopt the parking disincentive rate for vehicles that have not passed the emission test", said Ani Ruspitawati, the spokesperson for the Air Pollution Control Task Force of the Jakarta administration, over the weekend. In addition, the disincentive rate will also be applicable at several prominent locations, including Taman Menteng, Istana Pasar Baru, Park and Ride Lebak Bulus, Park and Ride Terminal Kampung Rambutan, and Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM). This policy is established under Governor of Jakarta Regulation Number 31 of 2017 on Parking Service Rates. For four-wheeled vehicles, the rate stands at Rp 7,500 per hour, with progressive pricing at each parking location under the Jakarta administration. However, it's worth noting that motorcycles are currently exempt from the highest parking rates applied to cars. (mg/as/pr/nm)
