Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) hosted a unique cartoon exhibition in Jakarta on Sunday (24/9/2023) as part of the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election.
"In anticipation of the 2024 democratic event, we aim to demonstrate that democracy can be a joyful and relaxed process," said Assistant Commissioner Akta Wijaya, who heads the INP Staff and Middle Leadership School Regular Education 63rd Batch.
Under the banner of "artpolisting," this exhibition challenges the traditional perception of politics as cumbersome and uninviting. The theme of the exhibition revolves around anecdotes from the life of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid, fondly known as Gus Dur.
The exhibition features an array of artwork contributed by seven accomplished artists, including GM Sudarta, Itok Isdiyanto, Non-o (Sudi Purwono), Gatot Eko Cahyono (Gatote), Pramono R Pramoedjo, Thomas Lionar, and Anwar Rosyid. With over 100 captivating pieces on display, the exhibition uses cartoons and paintings to depict various aspects of the political landscape.
In an effort to engage a wider audience, the exhibition has been showcased in several major Indonesian cities, including Batam, Bali, Pontianak, Palembang, and Surabaya, since August 2023, and will continue until September 2023, antaranews.com reported.
