Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have deployed 1,632 joint personnel to secure a planned demonstration by online motorcycle taxi drivers near South Merdeka Square on Monday (21/7/2025)..

"We urge the protesters to express their opinions peacefully, avoid provocation, and not confront officers," said Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, as reported by antaranews.com.

Two waves of protests are expected. The first, at 10 am local time, is organized by GARDA Indonesia Jakarta. The second, at 1 pm, involves groups claiming to be victims of ride-hailing platforms.

Both groups are demanding a cap on platform commission fees at 10%. Chief Susatyo reminded demonstrators not to burn tires or damage public facilities.

Officers will not carry firearms and are instructed to act humanely while maintaining order.
