The South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police  have named the father who killed his four children in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, as a suspect in a case of Domestic Violence against his wife.. "Regarding the domestic violence case, last Monday, we conducted a review. He is now a suspect," said Superintendent Bintoro, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Police, on Thursday (14/12/2023). The investigators have been conducting examinations to substantiate the allegations of domestic violence committed by the suspect, identified as P, against D, his wife, antaranews.com reported. "Please give us time because there are two cases we need to address: the domestic violence case and premeditated murder. Once everything is completed, we will provide updates," Chief Bintoro said. The South Jakarta Police had named P as a suspect for the premeditated murder of his four  biological children. On Tuesday, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Chief the South Jakarta Police, revealed that P was driven by jealousy towards D, leading him to commit acts of domestic violence. As a result, his wife had to be admitted to Pasar Minggu Regional General Hospital. This motive also prompted P to contemplate murdering his four children and attempting suicide by injuring his right and left wrists, along with his abdomen. "He had left messages on his phone and laptop beforehand. This was the basis for his decision to take this drastic step, claiming it would allow his wife to live more freely, and he would depart with his children," Chief Ade said. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
