inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Forest and Land Fire Control Task Force has arrested two suspects of Lubuk Kambing District wildfire on Sunday (8/4/2024).
The Acting Commander of the task force, Brigadier General of the Indonesian National Military (TNI) Rachmad Zulkarnaen says that his unit initially found the hotspot through NOAA20 and SNPP satellites.
Following the findings, the task force immediately went to the location with motorbikes.
Previously Jambi Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Rusdi Hartono instructed his personnel to be ready in enforcing the law to all forest arsons, whether the suspect are individual or in a group.
As of now, the two wildfire suspects have been arrested by the police. They are SI (72) and SA (50). They were moved to Merlung Sector Police for further investigation before moving to Tanjabbar Sub-regional Police.
Security officials implored the public to avoid clearing their field by way of fire as it could spread into other lands and cause a wildfire.
