Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Jambi Regional Police dispatched K9 Unit in their security patrol around the Polling Stations holding follow-up votes in Jambi City.
“Yes, our K9 Unit is to patrol and assure the security of polling stations holding follow-up votes,” said the Affairs Officer of Public Information Sub-division of Jambi Regional Police PR Division, Second Police Inspector Alamsyah Amir on Saturday (2/24/2024).
He confirmed that on this security operation, Jambi Regional Police deployed a team to patrol around four polling stations in Jambi City. The patrol was to anticipate threats that may arise during follow-up votes.
“They are just patrolling to anticipate threats,” said Alamsyah. He continued that the patrols are still in accordance with the Standard Operational Procedure in preventing threats and security disruptions, particularly commotions involving huge crowds.
It is worth noting that in Jambi, there are 12 polling stations that hold follow-up votes, and they were scattered around Jambi City, Batanghari Regency, and Tebo Regency.
