Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. A Jayapura resident raise her appreciation for the police's efforts in ensuring security and public order, which has helped them feel more at ease in their daily activities in Papua.
Maria Wenda, a resident of Jayapura Regency, shared her gratitude for the officers who actively patrol and engage with the community.
"We feel safer because the police often patrol and communicate with us. They also respond quickly when issues arise," she said on Sunday (12/1/2025)
The Bhabinkamtibmas program, a community policing initiative where officers are assigned to specific neighborhoods to foster communication and cooperation with residents, has been particularly effective in maintaining stability across various regions in Papua.
Maria also noted that the police presence not only brings security but also supports local development.
"With a safe environment, we can work peacefully, and the community feels more confident in advancing our area," she added.
Traditional and religious leaders have earlier raised their support for the efforts, urging the community to collaborate with authorities in maintaining peace.
