inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government is accelerating the digitalization of National Health Insurance (JKN) services by implementing SATUSEHAT-based Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) as the sole valid claim document. This policy will begin trials in August 2026.

Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Aminudin explained that the Joint Circular Letter establishes technical standards for EMRs.

During the transition period, hospitals are required to adjust their systems, conduct data submission trials, and simulate electronic claims without disrupting payments. Once a national evaluation is complete, the "No EMR, No Claim" policy will be fully implemented in 2027.

As of May 2026, approximately 2,400 hospitals had submitted data for six types of EMR services to the SATUSEHAT platform. This number is targeted to continue growing as integration occurs across healthcare facilities throughout Indonesia.

The goal is to improve administrative governance and transparency of BPJS Kesehatan claims. Integrated digital data is expected to reduce claim leakage and improve service accountability.

The Ministry of Health emphasized that this digitalization will not hinder patient care. Hospitals will be given time to adjust their IT systems during the trial period before the full regulation is implemented.
