inp.polri.go.id - Nabire. The Rajawali Mambri Task Force and the Damai Cartenz Task Force successfully took down a member of the armed criminal group (KKB), led by Aibon Kogoya, in the Bukit Signal area around Kali Pepaya, Nabire Regency, on Monday, March 16, 2026.

The Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Damai Cartenz Operation, Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, when asked by the media, stated that in the incident, the Rajawali Mambri Task Force and the Damai Cartenz Peace Operation Task Force took firm and measured action, resulting in the death of one KKB member, Hurbianus Mirip. 

He was known to be on the wanted list (DPO) and suspected of involvement in several acts of violence in Central Papua.

"Hurbianus Mirip was a member of the KKB Kodap III D Dulla and had been on the wanted list since 2025 for alleged involvement in various acts of armed violence in the Nabire and Paniai areas," said Yusuf.

Yusuf further stated that Hurbianus Mirip is suspected of involvement in the murder of two mobile brigade personnel on August 13, 2025, and the seizure of two AK-101 firearms. 

Furthermore, the group is also suspected of shooting at residents and officers in the Kali Semen area on October 17, 2025.

The group was also recorded as having blocked access to the Trans Nabire-Paniai Highway at KM 58 on October 20, 2025, and engaging in a firefight with security forces in the Bukit Doa area on November 27, 2025.

The group also attacked a TNI security post in the PT Kristalin area on February 21, 2026, resulting in the deaths of one TNI personnel and one civilian and the seizure of three firearms.
