"Today, I started my visit to China to held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister China Li Keqiang and President of China Xi Jinping," Jokowi wrote in his official Twitter account.
During the meeting, Jokowi will talk about strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic sector.
Jokowi, Mrs. Iriana Jokowi, and their entourage arrived in Beijing at 22.00 local time. Jokowi and Iriana stayed at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.
Previously, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin stated that Jokowi's visit to China showed how important the relationship between China and Indonesia was.
Wang said that Jokowi's was the first foreign leader to visit China since last February when Beijing hosted the Winter Olympics.
"President Xi Jinping will hold talks with President Joko Widodo and Premier Li Keqiang. They will discuss and exchange in-depth views on bilateral relations and major regional and international issues," Wang said at a regular press conference at the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing on Friday. then.
Jokowi's visit to China is part of the President’s tour to three East Asian countries. After going to China, Jokowi will visit Japan and South Korea this week.
