Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian President Joko Widodo stressed that synchronization between the central and regional government is a must for every development in the country.
“We already have a long-term plan, a mid-term plan, and every year, each of us has a government work plan or RKP. But what we have not yet prepared is a synchronization with our core plan,” said Jokowi on Monday (5/6/2024).
He took the example as when the central government built a dam and primary irrigation system. When it was completed, the regional government who has the responsibility to use the facility to water the field did not do so.
Another example is when the government builds a port. The regional government is still unable to procure the supporting facilities such as roads towards the ports.
“Even if it's just five, or even one kilometer, they still did not do it. This is what I call we need to be in synchronization,” said Jokowi.
He also reminds that every state development, his ministries have held discussions with the regional government first to see how the regional government would further the development.
Jokowi then complained that most of his regional governments often accept the development despite their lack of preparation. He says that the regional government often agrees with the central government preposition at first, then complains to the central government when asked about the development continuity.
Therefore, Jokowi stressed the importance of synchronization between the central government and regional government in every development. Jokowi asked for the 2025 RKP will be drafted carefully and thoroughly.
