Inp.polri.go.id - Pasuruan. Four passengers died in a train accident in Pasuruan, EAuthorities in Pasuruan, East Java, on Tuesday morning (7/5/2024).
According to Superintendent Wayan Purwa, the East Java Regional Police Head of Law Enforcement Sub-directorate said that three fatalities occurred at the scene, while one person succumbed to injuries in the hospital.
The accident occurred at 8.41 am when a minibus, bearing license plate N-1475-WU, was struck by a train at Patuguran Village, Rejoso Subdistrict, Pasuruan regency, according to antaranews.com.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the minibus, part of a convoy from the Sidogiri Islamic Boarding School and driven by M Rofiq Abdila, was traveling from south to north, crossing a railway intersection without barriers.
It is suspected that the driver failed to observe the surroundings, leading to a collision with the eastbound Pandalungan Train (No Loko CC2030107) en route from Gambir to Jember.
M Rofiq Abdilah, the minibus driver, sustained minor injuries while passengers Moch Afullah and Nasruna also suffered. They are receiving treatment at the Rejoso Community Health Center.
