“Lausimeme Dam is the 47th Dam that I have inaugurated for the past 10 years,” says President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo after the inauguration.

In his remarks, he noted that the dam that begins its first construction in 2018 is very important for the surrounding community.

He says that the dam has many significant benefits that it could offer to the community.

“The dam can help reduce the flood rate in Medan City, particularly in Deli Serdang Regency, while also being able to provide water for Medan and Deli Serdang. This dam could also water the fields in this area,” explains Jokowi.

The dam with a flood area of ​​125 hectares has a capacity of 21 million cubic meters.

President Jokowi also hopes that with the operation of the Lausimeme Dam, its benefits will soon be felt by the people of North Sumatra widely.

The construction of the Lausimeme Dam is part of the government's efforts to build and develop irrigation infrastructure across Indonesia.

Through this inauguration, the government continues to emphasize its commitment to improving the quality of life of the community through sustainable infrastructure development.
