inp.polri.go.id – Semarang. The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo, stated that the National Police (Polri) must work well in order to be trusted by the public. They are asked to work with precision and care so as not to damage the trust that has been given by the public to the institution. This was conveyed by President Jokowi in his remarks on the 76th Bhayangkara Day which was held at the Semarang Police Academy Campus, Central Java, Tuesday (7/5/2022). "Every neglience, whatever in the field, no matter how small it is, it can damage the public's trust in the Polri institution. Therefore, work carefully, work with precision," stated the President of the Republic of Indonesia when giving his remark in the ceremony. In commemoration of the 76th Bhayangkara Day, President Jokowi also expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the Police in serving the people, as well as defending the nation and state. The President stated that he and the entire Indonesian people have high hopes for Polri, considering their services that goes down even to the village level. Police members also come into direct contact with the community every day, so they are always under the people's watchfull eyes. The former governor of DKI Jakarta also said that the latest survey published by Kompas media showed that 58.3% respondents considered the actions of Polri members is in accordance with Presisi's vision. "But remember, there are 28.6% who says otherwise," said the President. Furthermore, Jokowi conveyed that there are still many tasks that must be faced with the support of Polri, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, global uncertainty, energy crisis, food crisis and financial crisis. Therefore, Polri must ensure that public security and order is stronger in facing these challenges.
