President Joko Widodo, or known as Jokowi, said that there are three keys to determining the direction of world development, namely stability, solidarity and equalit in response to the condition of global problems in the second session of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India.
"The 'One Family' philosophy should not just be a jargon. Rather, it is a mindset to determine the direction of world development. We all must be responsible and ensure that all people of the world without exception live in peace, stability and prosperity," President Jokowi said in a written statement as quoted by antaranews.com on Sunday (10/9/2023).
He explained that, in its capacity as the Chair of ASEAN 2023, Indonesia continues to encourage ASEAN as an anchor of regional stability. Indonesia will support a culture of dialogue and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The president called for cessation of wars and hostilities by adhering to international law and the spirit of cooperation and multilateralism. As the premier forum for economic cooperation, the G20 is directed to make solidarity the spirit of cooperation among members.
"With global conditions becoming increasingly polarized, the G20 must move to end the north-south, developed-developed, and east-west dichotomies. The door to dialog and cooperation must be open to all countries," he explained.
In the second session, President Jokowi welcomed the African Union in joining the G20. Indonesia continues to encourage wider regional representation for global governance.
According to him, the G20 must support the strengthening of developing countries' participation in global supply chains. An equal, inclusive and fair cooperation ecosystem needs to be realized for the fulfillment of development rights for all, he added.
"The G20 must promote the spirit of brotherhood and realize a world of peace, justice, and prosperity," the president concluded.
During the second session of the summit, President Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and a number of members of the Indonesia Cabinet.
