Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Indonesian shuttler Jonatan Christie fell short in the 2025 Indonesia Masters final, succumbing to Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn in a hard-fought rubber game, 21-18, 17-21, 18-21, at Istora Senayan stadium on Sunday (25/1/2025).

Jonatan began strongly, taking the opening game 21-18 through sharp placements and strategic play. Despite Vitidsarn’s attempts to close the gap, Jonatan held firm, maintaining control and securing the first set, according to antaranews.com.

The Thai player adapted quickly in the second game, altering his pace and forcing Jonatan into defensive positions. Vitidsarn claimed the second game 21-17, setting up a decisive third game.

The final game featured intense rallies and dramatic exchanges. Though Jonatan displayed resilience, Kunlavut’s consistent pressure saw him dominate key moments. After leading 11-6 at the interval, the 2023 World Champion sealed his victory, denying Jonatan a second Indonesia Masters title.

In the men’s doubles final, Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto also suffered defeat, falling to Malaysia's Wei Chong Man and Kai Wun Tee in straight games, 11-21, 19-21.
