Inp.polri.go.id - Surakarta. State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety following the arrest of a suspected terrorist at Solo Balapan Station on 30 July 2024.
The Public Relations Manager of KAI’s Office in Yogyakarta, Krisbiyantoro, said on Friday (2/8/2024) that enhanced security measures include layered protection strategies, routine patrols, and increased CCTV coverage at stations and on trains.
“We are continuously improving our security system and ensuring proactive measures by our security personnel,” he said.
The arrest of the suspect, who was on the Gajayana train, is now under police investigation, according to antaranews.com.
Krisbiyantoro said that KAI supports law enforcement efforts against terrorism and emphasizes its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal activities. The company vowed to cooperate with authorities in addressing any potential criminal activities within the railway environment.
