Inp.polri.go.id - Madiun. Delegations from Kenya and Bangladesh arrived on Sunday (17/9/2023)for a week-long health training program in Madiun, East Java, focusing on family planning and reproduction. They were warmly welcomed on September 17, 2023, by Mayor Maidi of Madiun.
The Kenyan delegation includes officials from the Ministry of Health, the National Council for Population and Development Affairs, regional governing bodies, and academics. The three delegates from Bangladesh are part of the "Partners in Population and Development" (PPD) consortium.
Mayor Maidi, who personally welcomed the delegates at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, emphasized the significance of the visit, highlighting Madiun City's achievements in family planning and its selection as the venue for a study commissioned by the Kenyan government.
"Madiun City stands as a national exemple in family planning. This distinction was pivotal in our selection as hosts for this transformative training program," he was quoted by antaranews.com as saying.
The program, starting on September 18, will take place at various locations in Madiun City, including the Government Chief Information Officer (GCIO) Building and several health facilities. Madiun City's selection as the venue for Kenya's post-natal family planning study is justified by its impressive track record in family planning, especially post-childbirth. The city's hospital ranks first in the Family Planning Village category, earning accolades for two decades. Notable individuals like Yuni Setyawati Maidi and Dr. H Muhammad Nur SpOG have also received prestigious awards.
