Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. In the aftermath of the attack by an Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Puncak Regency, Central Papua, three victims' bodies have been evacuated to Timika, in Mimika Regency.
The Head of Public Relations Department of the Papua Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo said that the evacuation was conducted using Dabi Air aircraft through the Cargo Terminal of Mozes Kilangin Timika UPBU Airport
"The evacuation was carried out using Dabi Air aircraft, piloted by Captain Boyke with the route Timika-Beoga-Timika," he explained in a written statement on Monday (27/11/23).
The three bodies evacuated were Satiman (40), Suyanto (40), and Triono (50). Additionally, two injured individuals were taken to the Mimika Regency Hospital for further medical treatment.
"The bodies will be temporarily laid to rest at Mimika Hospital, and the burial process is still awaiting agreement from the family," the spokesperson added.
He added that the joint Indonesian National Police (INP)- the Indonesian Military forces have been intensifying security in the area to anticipate the possibility of subsequent incidents.
"At present, security forces in Puncak Regency are increasing security in vulnerable areas to prevent similar incidents and conducting further investigations to apprehend those involved in the attack," the spokesperson asserted.
