Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  The Damai Cartenz Special Task Force for Law Enforcement and Peaceful Resolution (Gakkum DC) has arrested a suspected member of the armed criminal group (KKB) believed to be involved in the theft of firearms from the Aminggaru Airport Police Station in Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Central Papua. Senior Superintendent I Gusti Gde Era Adhinata, the Head of Gakkum DC who also serves as the Head of the Information and Communication Technology Unit at the Papua Regional Police, confirmed the arrest on Sunday (3/3/2024), as reported by antaranews.com. The suspect, known as YT alias WT, was allegedly part of the group responsible for stealing SS 1-V1 firearms near the Al Iklas Mosque in Ilaga's Kago Market Complex, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency. After the robbery, the suspect fled to Mundidok Village in Gome District, a known KKB stronghold. The arrest of YT took place on Saturday in Kago Village.  YT was found in possession of two mobile phones, a wallet containing an ID card, and cash. Currently held at the Puncak Police Station in Ilaga, YT is undergoing questioning to provide further information about the incident. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
