Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested 13 people, including Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko, in an overnight sting operation linked to alleged bribery in civil service rotations and promotions within the Ponorogo Regency administration, East Java.

“KPK’s team detained 13 people,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in Jakarta on Saturday (8/11/2025) confirming that the arrests were made through a series of actions on Friday night.

Under Indonesian law, the KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those detained.

“The case concerns suspected corruption in job rotations and appointments,” Budi added, as quoted by antaranews.com

Regent Sugiri’s arrest is the seventh sting operation conducted by the KPK in 2025. Earlier this year, similar sting operations involving regional officials and ministry executives in corruption cases spanning Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Riau provinces.
