Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The General Election Commission (KPU) reveals that there will be three zones of campaign for the 2024 Presidential General Election. The three zones would enable candidates to campaign smoothly without worrying it would clash with the campaign of another candidates. “So, the campaign zones for the presidential election will be divided into three zones, Zona A, B, and C. Candidates could determine which zones that they would visit first,” says KPU Commissioner Agus Mellaz in his press statement on Monday (1/15/2024). Mellaz said that the zone is to prevent each candidate from visiting one region at the same time. Currently, the technical team from each Liaison Officer of the candidates are discussing the zone system. “If the zonation is divided into three zones, then we divide the 38 provinces into three parts proportionally accordingly, you could say same as the partition of three time zones in Indonesia,” continued Mellaz. Moreover, there are two political parties who did not take part in the presidential election, which are PKN and Labor Party. For that, KPU will design the locations for the two to campaign for the legislative elections accordingly. The open campaign period will be held for 21 days. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
