Lampung Police Nab Fredy Pratama Accomplice in Bandung

The Lampung Regional Police Narcotics Department has arrested an alleged associate of notorious international drug network leader Fredy Pratama, who is currently on the run, in Bandung, West Java. Superintendent Umi Fadillah Astutik, the Head of the Lampung Regional Police's Public Relations unit, said on Thursday (7/12/2023) that the detainee was SR, also known as Black, from Palembang, South Sumatra, SR was taken into custody on Wednesday as part of an expanded investigation into Fredy Pratama's network, bringing the total number of detainees linked to the international drug syndicate to 28. According to the ongoing investigation, SR received a payment of Rp5 million per kilogram of drugs.  He had smuggled and  transported hundreds of kilograms with the help of the 12 couriers, antaranews.com reported. "We are still investigating SR's involvement as he is giving confused statements," she added. The modus operandi involved smuggling crystal methampetamine from Aceh, Medan and Pekanbaru through Palembang before being transported through Lampung to various destinations, including Jakarta and Surabaya. SR reportedly obtained the drugs from a prisoner named L, who was initially detained at Banyuasin Prison and later transferred to Nusakambangan, along with individuals identified as H and K, who is the husband of social media influencer APS. In addition to SR's arrest, police seized evidence including a mobile phone, Rp1.8 million in cash, ATM cards, bank passbooks, passports and bank statements. "Today we also seized a house in Palembang registered in the name of Suspect B, another associate of Fredy Pratama. In addition, the Lampung Regional Police have seized funds totalling Rp34.4 billion from the dismantling of this international network, which have been handed over to the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office," she said.
