inp.polri.go.id - West Aceh. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned the people of Aceh's west coast to be aware of the potential of land fires.

"Based on satellite imagery, the Aceh region is currently still in the dry season, so the potential for land fires remains," said Almira Aprilianti, a forecaster at the Meulaboh-Nagan Raya BMKG Station, as reported by Antaranews on Wednesday (7/9/2025).

Almira stated that despite the dry season until July 2025, the BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency) is urging the people in West Aceh Regency, Nagan Raya, and the surrounding areas not to burn land while clearing it.

Considering the impact of the dry season and high temperatures in Aceh, the potential for land fires, as has been occurring in recent days, could lead to catastrophic land fires.

She also stated that, based on satellite imagery, in July 2025, most of the south-west coast of Aceh would still be in the dry season, with no potential for heavy rainfall.

However, due to weather anomalies, heavy rainfall of moderate to light intensity could occur.

"Generally, in July, Aceh is still in the dry season. Any sudden rainfall is likely due to weather anomalies. The public is advised to remain vigilant for forest and land fires," Almira concluded.
