inp.polri.go.id - Medan. Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana stated that tourism management cannot rely solely on infrastructure, but requires harmony with science, enriched by narratives, and driven by innovation.
"This forum is crucial as a space where ideas grow into action," she said, as reported by Antaranews, Tuesday (7/8/2025).
Widiyanti stated that geopark status is not only a form of protection, but also an opportunity to open up space for learning.
She said that through this conference, subsequent forums will be held, so that it can become a center of knowledge.
Meanwhile, to realize this grand vision, she added, admiration alone is not enough; it must be managed with awareness and a clear direction.
"UNESCO has provided guidance through the three main pillars of global geoparks: protection, education, and sustainable development," she explained.
