Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. The Riau Islands Regional Police have been pressing charge sgainst 35 individuals, who did not get suspension of legal proceeding, in the case involving the chaotic Rempang Island relocation protest on September 11, 2023.
Senior Superintendent Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, the Public Relations Unit Head of the Riau Islands Regional Police. said that that the investigation into the involvement of these 35 individuals continued, underscoring that investigators have been collecting and analyzing information.
"The investigation is ongoing," said Commissioner Pandra Arsyad during a press conference in Batam, Riau Islands, on Monday (25/9/2023).
In another development, the legal procedures for eight individuals who previously received suspension continued, antaranews.com reported.. They got the suspension because they have contributed to the stability in Rempang Island after the protests.
The Riau Islands Regional Police have been intensifying preventive efforts to deter similar incidents, given the proliferation of false information in the media regarding the Rempang issue, the spokesperson added.
