President Joko Widodo states that the government would still prioritize local investors for Nusantara Capital City (IKN) amidst the 300 letters of intent coming from foreign investors. “I have always reported the progress of IKN to all of the countries I visited, what kind of investment open for them, and many of them are interested. But as of now, there are already around 300 letters of intent that have been signed,” says Jokowi. Although it was only an intent, Jokowi still optimistic that many foreign investors would flock to invest on IKN. He then adds that currently the government is still prioritizing local investors for the establishment of IKN. “I still think there would be many, only we still prioritize our local investors first,” Jokowi adds. Previously, the Authority Secretary of IKN Achmad Jaka Santos Adiwijaya on Thursday reports that they had received around 300 letters of intent. Among the 103 letters of intent are for the housing sector establishment and 71 others are for commercial sector. The infrastructure of education became the third highest with 63 of letters of interest while the rest is for transportation and health sectors. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
