Long-Distance Train Passenger Goes Up 51% On Weekend

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Passenger data during the long weekend increased, this is based on records from Indonesian Train Company (KAI), long-distance passengers experienced a 51 percent increase on Saturday (14/9/24).

 

Jakarta KAI 1 Public Relations Manager, Ixfan Hendriwintoko, said that this spike was due to the long holiday of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday 1446 Hijriah on Monday, September 16th, 2024.

 

"Data shows that today (Saturday) the volume of passengers from Jakarta reached 36 thousand people," said Ixfan Hendriwintoko.

 

Ixfan details that 15,500 passengers departed from Pasar Senen Station and 12,300 passengers boarded from Gambir Station. While the rest boarded from Bekasi, Jatinegara, Cikarang, Karawang, Cikampek, and Jakarta Kota Stations.

 

"This number increased by 51 percent compared to the previous week (7/9/2024) which was only 23,724 passengers," he explained.

 

Furthermore, he also said that the highest number of passenger departures occurred on Friday (9/13/2024), with 36,107 passengers.

 

His party also noted that the number of tickets that had been ordered during this long holiday period reached 124 thousand tickets. This number can still increase because ticket sales are still ongoing
