inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. ASDP Indonesia Ferry predicts that the movement of passengers and vehicles during the long weekend or long holiday of the Prophet Muhammad's Mawlid will be relatively busy and smooth.

ASDP Corporate Secretary, Shelvy Arifin revealed that management predicts an increase in passenger and vehicle traffic of around 7-10 percent when compared to normal days, especially on the busiest route Merak-Bakauheni, which connects Java-Sumatra.

"We are committed to continuing to provide excellent service to service users," said Shelvy Arifin on Sunday (9/15/2024). "Of course by preparing various adequate service facilities, including actively coordinating with the BPTD regulator who is authorized to regulate ship schedules," adds Shelvy Arifin.

Shelvy Arifin also explained that based on Merak Post Data on Friday (9/13) to Saturday (9/14) morning, it was recorded that around 40,623 people had crossed from Java to Sumatra.

This number increased by 50 percent compared to the previous normal day on Thursday (9/12) of 27,090 people. There were 28 ships operating 24 hours a day serving up to 107 trips.

The total number of vehicles crossing on Friday (9/12) was recorded at 10,521 units from Java to Sumatra or an increase of 48 percent compared to the realization of the same period last year of 7,090 units.

The ASDP Corporate Secretary also appealed to service users who will travel by ferry, especially on the Merak-Bakauheni and Ketapang-Gilimanuk routes, to buy tickets well in advance through the Ferizy application or official partners.

Service users are also expected not to buy tickets through brokers to prevent losses for passengers, especially invalid manifest data recording.

"So that passengers can be orderly, continue to follow the directions of ship and port officers for mutual safety and security. Also, make sure that your stamina and vehicle are in prime condition for a smooth holiday trip," concluded the ASDP Corporate Secretary.
