Inp.polri.go.id - Palu.  Indonesia’s Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has reopened registration for terrorism victims seeking compensation, following a Constitutional Court ruling that extends the deadline to 22 June 2028.

“There are three years left for victims to apply,” said LPSK Deputy Chairperson Mahyuddin on Tuesday (24/6/2025). “This extension was granted under Constitutional Court Decision No. 103/2023, acknowledging past limitations in access and information.”

Previously, terrorism victims had only until June 2021 to apply, but implementation challenges — including late issuance of technical regulations in mid-2020 — left little time for outreach. The ruling now allows a ten-year window from the enactment of Law No. 5/2018 on terrorism.

Mahyuddin noted ongoing difficulties, such as identifying victims in remote areas, as reported by antaranews.com.

To address this, LPSK is expanding outreach through local media, regional governments, and community facilitators, while collaborating with ministries and agencies to gather and verify data.

Victims already compensated will also assist others in navigating the process.
