Inp.polri.go.id - Sumedang. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs, Zulkifli Hasan, confirmed on Tuesday (24/6/2025) that the country's national food stock is sufficient, eliminating the need for imports for the next year.
“Our production is enough, even until next year — no imports needed,” he said after addressing regional leaders during a Regional Heads’ Retreat in Sumedang, West Java, as reported by antaranews.com
Minister Zulkifli attributed the food stability to President Prabowo Subianto’s pro-people agricultural and food resilience policies. He expected that Indonesia’s food security would remain intact despite rising global tensions, particularly the Iran-Israel conflict.
"As long as we keep working hard, we hope these global conflicts won’t significantly affect us. For now, we’re fine," he added.
The Iran-Israel conflict has intensified since mid-June, with retaliatory attacks and U.S. involvement further destabilizing the Middle East. Despite these developments, Indonesia remains optimistic about its domestic food resilience.
