Inp.polri.go.id - Palu. The Central Sulawesi Regional Police’s Madago Raya Task Force has confiscated four firearms and four improvised bombs between July and September 2024.

"Madago Raya secured and received the surrender of firearms, improvised bombs, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition during Phase III of the operation," Senior Superintendent Boy F.S. Samola, the Head of Madago Raya Operations, in a statement received on Wednesday (2/10/2024)

The operation, focused on deradicalization and counter-terrorism, emphasizes preemptive and preventive measures to curb the spread of radical ideologies and terrorism. Conducted in four stages, the regional security operation took place from July to September 2024.

Seized items include three homemade long-barrel firearms, one short-barrel firearm, a PCP air rifle with a telescope, and 136 rounds of ammunition, alongside four homemade bombs.

The operation involved 253 personnel, including military soldiers. The team exceeded its initial target of 8,754 activities, achieving 11,195 by the end of Phase III.

Madago Raya Phase IV will continue from 1 October to 31 December  2024, with a focus on maintaining security and preventing the spread of radicalism in four targeted districts.
