Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Ambon, Maluku Province, on Sunday (4/8/2024) at 3.03 pm local time. 

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) confirmed that the earthquake's epicenter was located at sea, 23 kilometers west of Saparua, at a depth of 123 kilometers.

The tremor was strongly felt in Ambon, but there are no immediate reports of damage. Residents are advised to remain alert for potential aftershocks.
