Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook the West Southeast Maluku region on Tuesday morning (14/7/2026), according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). The agency reported that the tectonic event occurred at approximately 5.10 am.
The earthquake was centered at coordinates 6.19 South Latitude and 130.03 East Longitude, placing the epicenter about 243 kilometers northwest of West Southeast Maluku. BMKG noted that the seismic activity originated from a deep source, registering a depth of 142 kilometers.
"This information prioritizes speed, so the data processing results are not yet stable and could change as more data becomes available," BMKG said in an official disclaimer on its social media account.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties resulting from the deep-focus quake.
