Inp.polri.go.id - Lumajang. An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 struck Lumajang Regency, East Java, early Saturday at around 2.34 am.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, about 112 kilometers southwest of Lumajang, according to antaranews.com.

Reports from the early warning system, infoBMKG, which is operated by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency, (BMKG),  indicated that tremors were felt briefly in neighboring areas such as Jember, Kepajen, Pacitan, and Blitar, with a magnitude of II-III MMI.

While BMKG has not provided detailed information on the cause and impact of the earthquake, residents are advised to remain calm and await analysis results from BMKG before reacting to unverified information.
