Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Investigators from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have named a man a suspect after he was caught carrying bottles filled with flammable liquid and fitted with wicks during a protest near the  House of Representatives (DPR) building in Central Jakarta on 12 June 2026.

“Following intensive questioning, his status was raised to suspect. Officers seized three bottles with dangerous liquid and wicks from his backpack, categorized as illegal incendiary devices,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto in a statement Saturday (13/6/2026).

The man, identified as ANH (24), was detained on Jalan Gatot Subroto after his suspicious movements drew attention. Another man, identified as R, who accompanied him to the protest, is being questioned as a witness. Police said suspect ANH admitted he came after seeing protest flyers on social media.

He is charged under Article 306 of the Criminal Code for possession of hazardous materials. Police stressed demonstrations must remain peaceful and warned against bringing weapons or dangerous items.
