Arriving at Terminal 2F at 8.41 pm, Mary Jane was escorted by security officers wearing a black shirt, black pants, and white shoes. She had been transferred from the Pondok Bambu Women’s Correctional Facility, Jakarta, earlier in the day, according to antaranews.com..
At the airport, Mary Jane rested at a lounge in Terminal 2F before a handover ceremony. Acting Deputy for Immigration and Corrections Coordination, I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram, officially transferred custody to the Philippine Embassy representatives at 9 pm.
She departed for Manila on Cebu Pacific Airlines flight 5J760 at 12.05 am on Wednesday.
Her transfer followed a bilateral agreement signed on 6 December 2024, between Indonesia’s Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, and Philippine Deputy Justice Minister Raul Vasquez. The Philippines agreed to meet all conditions set by Indonesia.
Mary Jane was arrested in 2010 at Yogyakarta’s Adisutjipto Airport with 2.6 kilograms of heroin and sentenced to death by Sleman District Court.
