Inp.polri.go.id - West Bandung. The West Bandung Regency has declared an Extraordinary Event (KLB) after hundreds of students were suspected of food poisoning from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in Cipongkor district.
“We immediately declared this as an Extraordinary Event so the handling can be faster and more comprehensive,” Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail said on Tuesday (23/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Authorities have suspended the Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) kitchen in Cipongkor for investigation, citing concerns over food management standards. Regent Jeje confirmed that none of the 85 kitchens across the regency have yet received health certification, prompting a wider evaluation of all facilities.
Police reported that 369 students from elementary to vocational schools were affected. Of these, 116 were treated at Cipongkor Health Center, 253 at the district post, 44 at Permata Clinic, 22 at a maternity hospital, and several others at RSUD Cililin General Hospital. Investigations into the cause of the mass poisoning are ongoing.
