inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto warned partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to implement the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) program properly and not to use it as a means of enriching certain individuals.
"Food matter is sacred. Food for those in need should not be used as a means of enriching certain individuals. Food is the easiest thing to corrupt," said President Prabowo on Thursday (6/4/2026).
He explained that the MBG plays a crucial role in ensuring nutritional intake for Indonesian children and preventing malnutrition, a contributing factor to stunting.
The program was implemented considering that there are still areas with quite high malnutrition rates. President Prabowo highlighted that there are still areas where more than 20 percent, approaching 30 percent, of children suffer from malnutrition.
He stated that the government would continue to monitor the implementation of the MBG, and that personnel from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and the Attorney General's Office (AGO) could be increased to ensure the smooth implementation of this priority program.
"We must strengthen law enforcement. I don't want our country to be disrespected. I don't want the people's money stolen, and there will be no exceptions," President Prabowo asserted.
On that occasion, President Prabowo also emphasized that the MBG, run by the BGN, is a mandate that must be carried out responsibly and ensure that the benefits reach the community.
"(Providing) food is a noble task for us, and it must succeed. It will succeed. If you don't want to work well, then step aside. The people's interests are above all else," President Prabowo said.
He also expressed his appreciation to all SPPG officers and partners who have implemented the MBG program, including those working in areas with geographical challenges and those in remote areas.
