inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) stated that the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program is continuously being improved to strengthen the national food security system.

BGN Deputy for Provision and Distribution, Suardi Samiran, emphasized that the MBG Program is a long-term investment in improving the quality of Indonesia's human resources.

"The MBG Program is not just social assistance, but a strategic innovation to enhance children's cognitive potential and strengthen the national food security system," said Suardi, Tuesday (5/5/2026).

He added that access to healthy food in schools is the foundation for developing a superior and globally competitive generation.

Meanwhile, Molly Prabawati, Expert Staff for Communication and Media at the Ministry of Communication and Digital stated that the MBG Program's benefits have not yet been felt by urban communities, but in the outermost, most remote, and most underdeveloped (3T) regions, this program truly serves as a pillar of the community, especially children.

"Indonesia is vast, consisting of more than 17,000 islands. We have large cities and remote areas, including the 3T (Left Behind, Foremost, and Outermost). The MBG program may seem less effective for urban communities, but our children in remote and 3T areas certainly need it," explained Molly.

She emphasized that to build the Golden Generation of 2045, Indonesia needs to ensure that Indonesian children are well-nourished. In this case, the MBG program plays a vital role in school to help improve their focus while studying.
