Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police celebrated Indonesia's 81st Independence Day alongside thousands of online motorcycle taxi drivers during the "Kopdar Kebangsaan Jaga Jakarta" event at the Promoter Building in Jakarta on Saturday, (22/8/2026)
Led by Jakarta Police Chief Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri and Deputy Chief Brigadier General Dekananto Eko Purwono, the gathering aimed to strengthen ties between law enforcement and motorcycle taxi communities.
"Online drivers are not merely part of Jakarta's mobility; they serve as pioneers for traffic safety and order," said ChiefDekananto, emphasizing that driver communities play a vital role in keeping public roads secure.
In addition to traditional Independence Day games and decorated motorcycle contests, the police force partnered with private health and automotive institutions to provide free driver health checkups, blood donations, light vehicle maintenance, emission testing, and complimentary driver's license renewal services for attendees.
