Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Jakarta Metro Jaya Police deployed large-scale patrols across the capital on Sunday to safeguard public security following a week of continuous demonstrations.
“The patrols are carried out to provide protection for the public, to give a sense of security,” said Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, during a briefing at the National Monument area on SUnday (31/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
A total of 324 officers were mobilized and divided into three groups covering North, East, Central, South, and West Jakarta, as well as the neighboring city of Depok. The initiative, supported by the military and Jakarta administration, combines increased police visibility with community engagement.
Authorities pledged a “humanist and persuasive” approach, prioritizing dialogue with community leaders while warning that any anarchic acts will face firm but measured action under standard operating procedures.
